Remote Guiding during the pandemic

By Louise Smith

The Sparks, Brownies, and Guides of Knowlton are not meeting face to face for the rest of the school year. They met weekly at Knowlton Academy but with the school being shut and with all the stay at home guidance in place, there is no way that weekly meetings could continue. Guide leader Donna Houseman has kept in touch with the girls and remotely, more than half the girls responded to the rainbow challenge. They made rainbows to put in their windows to remind everyone that we will get through this period. Then they sent photos back to Donna.
A special rainbow crest has been ordered for the girls. Another crest that says ‘Thank you for washing your hands” will also be sent to the girls. In years to come the girls who were in Guiding in 2020 will have unique souvenirs to look back on.
