Report of holiday police operations across Quebec

Record Staff – The police services across Quebec and the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) have released the results of the provincial coordinated operation to prevent driving ability impaired by alcohol, drugs or a combination of both, which took place from Nov. 29, 2018 to Jan. 3, 2019. More than 2,800 police operations were deployed across the province. The operations allowed the police to raise awareness among tens of thousands of drivers. During the operations, 960 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a combination of both, despite awareness campaigns and the many drive-home options.
