The minister responsible for Seniors and Caregivers, Marguerite Blais, recently announced $200,000 for the Maison Gilles-Carle. During her visit to Maison Gilles-Carle in Brome-Missisquoi, Minister Blais took the opportunity to share her intentions for the deployment of respite homes in Quebec to offer more support to caregivers. This funding is part of the Quebec government’s commitment to support the opening of 20 respite homes over the next ten years. The homes will be created using the model at the Maison Gilles-Carle Foundation. Respite services are those that best meet the needs expressed by caregivers. Despite the resources currently available, it is necessary to intensify and diversify the offer of respite services in Quebec.  See full story in the January 29 edition of the Brome County News.
