Adding to the variety of exciting parades and activities happening across the Townships on July 1, for those looking for a sweet treat to top off Canada Day, the Richmond 4-H club will be hosting its annual ice cream and strawberry social at the Richmond fairgrounds.

The event will take place from 7 p.m. till 9 p.m.

According to 4-Her Paige Frost, no entertainment is paired with the event, but as she pointed out, it is a social, so there will be plenty of socializing.

Admission is free for children four and under, $7 for 5 to 11-year-olds and $10 for 12 and up.

A portion of the profits will be donated to the Pet Connection in Lennoxville, Frost explained in an email.

Getting pumped for provincial rally

According to Frost, Richmond will be sending seven members and three chaperones to participate in the upcoming provincial rally hosted by Hatley 4-H.

“They are all very excited for the weekend, and for some, it is potentially their last year doing rally,” she said.
