Richmond Regional’s 2023 winner of the Mckeage Family Scholarship

The evening of June 22 saw another amazing turnout for the proud graduating class of Richmond Regional High School. Of the 64 students being honoured, a special prize awaited one of them. The Mckeage Family Scholarship is a prestigious $5,000 award that aims to help hard-working students, who have made an impact, by providing them with the financial means to further their studies while allowing them to find their way and follow their dreams.

This year’s recipient is Emma Caron. According to Ms. Theresa Sullivan, one of her teachers, “Emma is a very kind, caring, and empathetic individual. She always works hard to do her best, no matter what.” This sentiment is also shared by Ms. Shevon Murphy: “I had Emma in secondary 4 math. She is such a lovely girl. She worked hard and was super helpful to her peers.”

Ms. Julia Barrowman had much to say about her talented student. “Emma is a hardworking kid with lots of heart. She always entered my classroom with a smile and helped out whenever needed. Along with working hard in class she also exceled at sports and played on almost every team throughout her high school career. You could always count on her for her leadership, an encouraging word, great team support and spirit. And finally, I can’t forget Emma’s one true love…dill pickles! I foresee only great things for her and know that she will be successful in whatever she does with her great attitude and work ethic.”
