Road to CHUS Fleurimont to be closed until November

Record Staff – Traffic could be slowed down on from Monday, August 6 to October 31 for motorists and public transit users trying to visit the Fleurimont Hospital because of the construction of a new roundabout. As part of the preparatory work for the construction of the Mother and Child Center and emergency ward at the Hospital, James-Quentin Street (the main road in to the emergency department) is being reconfigured along with the hopsital parking lots. The changes will cause traffic to be directed to a temporary access lane leading to user parking and the hospital entrance. Ultimately, this new roundabout is expected to facilitate traffic on the Fleurimont Hospital site.
“Until October 31, the public is asked to pay close attention to signage at the Fleurimont Hospital site and to give themselves more travel time.” said Gilles Larocque, executive in charge of the functional and technical component of the Mother and Child Center and Emergency Project.
