Roadwork in Lennoxville

With roadwork happening in three areas of Lennoxville, traffic and detours could cause delays for some commuters Wednesday morning.
Winder Street will be closed for work at the railway crossing between Massawippi Street and du Golf Street. The work is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Wednesday and be completed by 5:30 p.m. A detour is planned via Routes 143 and 147.
A flag person will be present to escort and allow pedestrians and cyclists to safely approach the work site.
Roadwork will also be happening on Queen Street, which will be closed at the level of J.D.L.Laguë equipment (John Deere dealership) to the entrance of the 410. Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday, drivers will have to detour via Highway 410, Belvedere Street South and College Street towards Lennoxville. For drivers heading out of Lennoxville, a southbound lane will be open.
Traffic will be directed with the help of flagmen.
The Queen Street work will result in water interruption for residents living at 9, 11, 15, 16, 20, 30 Queen Street.There will be no temporary drinking water supply and a 48-hour preventative boil water advisory will take effect as soon as drinking water service is restored. Citizens will be required to boil water for one minute before drinking.
In addition to the work on Winder and Queen, work continues on the crosswalk on College Street near Little Forks, slowing morning traffic.
