Education Minister Jean-François Roberge was in Sherbrooke on Wednesday afternoon to tour parts of the Saint-François riding with local incumbent MNA Geneviève Hébert. Roberge said that the visit came as a part of a personal effort to be present in ridings across the province, rather than being out of any concern over his party’s ability to hold onto the territory in the upcoming election.
During the visit Roberge defended the timing of his party’s decision to support the construction of a new building for Sherbrooke’s Montcalm School after having previously turned the project down, echoing his party leader’s words from the time of the initial announcement that the province is working off a large infrastructure deficit left by previous governments.
