Rock Island sewage treatment plant project delayed

By Steve Blake, Special to The Record

Construction of the new sewage treatment plant in Rock Island has been delayed several months, and the more than $6.26 million government grant has been reset to reflect the new timeline. The original grant required the project to be completed by March, Stanstead’s General Manager Jean-Charles Bellemare said.
The plan began two years ago as a renovation project, but it turned into a rebuild, adding more costs. See full story in the Thursday, Sept. 12 edition of The Record.
