Santa Claus came to town in Sherbrooke on Sunday, greeting a massive crowd as he paraded through the streets, laughing all the way. The jolly old elf, accompanied by a wide range of local organizations and groups, wound his way along King Street from 13th avenue in Fleurimont all the way downtown. The parade ended with the lighting of the downtown Christmas tree at the corner of Wellington and Frontenac Streets, followed by a fireworks display.
Santa’s annual visit is sponsored every year by the Chemika Mamode pharmacy in Fleurimont and features a wide range of activities for the children and young families of Sherbrooke all the way down the road. This year marked the 16th edition of the parade, which draws a crowd of thousands every year.
Santa will be coming to Lennoxville for his annual visit to the fire station on December 10 from 1p.m. to 4 p.m.
