By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – The students at Sawyerville Elementary School participated in a fun colouring activity on Friday afternoon as a preview for next week’s colouring book project. With the help of local artist Debbie Mosher on April 12, the students will create a colouring made with pictures they have drawn that represent the four seasons in Sawyerville. The book, “Seasons in Sawyerville,” will be made available to all by the end of the school year. “It’s an exciting project,” said Kim Fessenden, community development agent at the Eaton Valley Community Learning Centre. “We received funding from the Community Health and Social Services Network to work on an activity that focuses on social and emotional learning competencies, namely self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making.” See full story in the Monday, April 8 edition of The Record.
