Last week Richmond Regional High School and Townshippers’ Association launched Senior Wellness Wednesdays – a new initiative for seniors in the Richmond and Danville region.
The program will take the form of weekly Wednesday morning activities for local seniors, and activities will include special outings, Tea & Talk presentations about local health and social services, Community Health Education Program (CHEP) videoconferences, and social days.
The idea for the program came from Alice Weare, a dedicated community volunteer from Richmond who has been organizing monthly activities for seniors in the area for several years.
At the launch on Sept. 14, Weare told the crowd during her speech that she was delighted to see her dream coming true.
