Thanks to the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP), funding in the amount of $ 140,619 was awarded to seven organizations supporting seniors in the Compton-Stanstead constituency to purchase, replace equipment or renovate with the goal of putting community projects into action. The announcement was made yesterday at the Weedon Community Centre by Marie-Claude Bibeau, Member of Parliament for Compton-Stanstead and Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development. The NHSP promotes positive aging by supporting volunteerism among seniors and encouraging them to take an active role in their community. The program strengthens the well-being of seniors and enables them to maintain social connections and pass on their knowledge, skills and experience.
