Sherbrooke athletics searching for volunteers for track and field championships

There are just two days remaining before Canadian athletes start flooding into Sherbrooke for the start of the Championnats nationaux d’athlétisme pour jeunes de la Légion 2022.
The national track and field event has been dangling in front of Quebecers for more than a year. In a press release, the club Athlétisme Sherbrooke (CAS) said it welcomes the country’s best athletes aged 18 years old and under, adding that the championships will run
until Aug. 9.
The track and field events will be held on the outdoor track at the Université de Sherbrooke. And athletes will also be able to take in the “unique experience by discovering the Eastern Townships.” The CAS is also still searching for a healthy supply of volunteers and partners.
The city’s athletics organization noted the event carries a lot of weight, and they will need as many hands as possible to keep the ship steady. Although the event is only a few days away, the club has once again asked residents in the Eastern Townships to considerdonating time.
There are several positions that remain vacant. They will need to be filled between Aug. 5 and 7. The members of the Championnats nationaux d’athlétisme pour jeunes de la Légion’s organizing committee invite all interested individuals to register at https://bit.ly/3mygT5z.
