Following the call for tenders launched last January, the City of Sherbrooke and the Sherbrooke Airport Development Corporation (CDAS) confirmed last week that they have received proposals from two air carriers interested in offering commercial flights to and from Sherbrooke. “We are very pleased with the response of the carriers to our invitation,” said Sherbooke Mayor Streve Lussier in a recent press release. “I remain convinced that the formula we are proposing is innovative and that we are on the right track to offer quality and pleasant service to business and leisure clients from Sherbrooke.” Air Creebec and Chrono Aviation have both expressed their interest in ensuring daily flights between Sherbrooke and Montreal. An analysis of the proposals received will be carried out over the next few weeks. Certain aspects could also be the subject of negotiations. Subsequently, the chosen carrier must obtain the access and permits necessary to operate a commercial service from Sherbrooke. See full story in the Monday, March 9 edition of The Record.
