Sherbrooke-based environmental group Les AmiEs de la Terre paid a visit to Sercovie on Du Conseil Street on Thursday morning to ask the service organization for its support on a project aiming to bring free bus service to Sherbrooke. The project, called “Vermeilleusement gratuit” proposes that Sherbrooke’s Public Transit company, the STS, offer free service outside of peak hours in order to improve accessibility of public transit. “We think we have found a solution,” said Les AmiEs de la Terre representative Hubert Richard, who has been arguing in favour of free public transit in the city for several years.
