Sherbrooke investing in living art

Sherbrooke will have a new circuit of living mosaics this coming summer. Expanding on its existing offering of “mosaiculture”: artworks that blend living plants and sculpture, the city plans to integrate the new circuit into its “open air gallery” of public art to increase the city’s appeal to visitors and residents alike. “The symposium of mosaics that took place in Gatineau drew in more than 1 million people with 27 artworks,” said Guylaine Boutin, director of the city’s public works department, in describing the project earlier this week. “There are people who really like to see this kind of exhibition.” See full story in the Friday, Feb. 9th edition of The Record.
