Sherbrooke police announce engagements on suicide, domestic violence, sex offenders

Press releases from the Sherbrooke police (SPS) on Feb. 1 and 2 have announced a series of hirings and partnerships aimed at developing capacity in several socially significant domains.

A new criminal information officer position has been created with a focus on registered sexual offenders and high-risk offenders.

An investigator has been assigned exclusively to coordination of domestic violence cases, including partnership with Crime Victims Assistance Centre (CAVAC) to support victims services.

A partnership with JEVI Suicide Prevention Centre-Estrie, which has had an office at SPS headquarters since the fall, is under development to promote wellness and suicide prevention.
