The Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) arrested 25-year-old Raphaël Bélisle on Tuesday following two sexual assault allegations, both with victims under 16 years old.
According to a press release, Bélisle is involved in the local scout community. He is also an elementary school teacher for the Centre de services (CSS) scolaire des Hauts-Cantons. And he has been involved with the Direction de la protection de la jeunesse (DPJ) as a foster family.
Following his arrest, Bélisle appeared in Quebec Court. SPS Spokesperson Martin Carrier told The Record that the suspect will be back in court at some point in the coming weeks or months. The preliminary outlook of the SPS investigation suggests there are more victims.
