Sherbrooke police officers increase summer patrols to monitor gatherings

With the weather getting hotter, the Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) predicts more outdoor gatherings in parks and other public green spaces in the area, which means more chances for residents to ignore Quebec’s health and safety measures.
According to communications officer Isabelle Gendron, the SPS preemptively started to increase patrols in gathering areas at the end of March. There are at least two officers on bikes every day, and four additional officers responding to Covid complaints.
