Sherbrooke researchers ask, how safe is it to drive with a cast?

How soon after a person breaks their ankle or foot is it safe to get back behind the wheel of a car? That’s the question at the heart of research being done by Dr. Francois Cabana and his team at the CHUS research centre in Sherbrooke. The project began in 2010, and since that time it has resulted in the creation of two different versions of a driving simulator meant to provide patients in recovery and their doctors with a sense of how their injury changes their ability to operate a vehicle.
