Sherbrooke’s “Fière la Fête” pride festivities came to a close this past weekend, culminating in a march through the streets of the city on Saturday and the founding of a new organization aimed at coordinating the annual event called Fièrté Sherbrooke Pride on Sunday afternoon. Speaking at the end of Saturday’s march, which saw hundreds of individuals and representatives of different local organizations walk from the Marché de la gare to Sherbrooke’s city hall, Fière la Fête coordinator Cédric Champagne praised the fact that this year brought in more participants than ever before. “This seventh edition of Fière la Fête was definitely a success,” he said. “Thank you for being here, year after year.” See full story in the Monday, Aug. 26 edition of The Record.
