Sherbrooke strapping on its dancing shoes

By Matthew McCully

Bishop’s University is one of the 36 locations across the city of Sherbrooke being visited by the Faire Danser un Village crew for an upcoming video project to make the city dance. “It takes about six months to ‘faire danser un village’” explained Marie-Claude Lord, co-creator of the project. In 2017, Lord and fellow yoga instructor Maude Lecours came up with an idea to spread joy in communities by getting people together to dance and celebrate the beauty of their surroundings. They then teamed up with filmmaker Carl Beauchemin and artistic director Vickie Grondin. Thanks to a Kickstarter campaign, the first video was created featuring people dancing all over Cowansville, Dunham and Frelighsburg. See full story in the Thursday, July 18 edition of The Record.
