Sherbrooke to pilot new housing co-op model

Lise Thériault, Provincial Minister responsible for consumer protection and housing was in Sherbrooke on Wednesday to announce a new model of cooperative living that will be launched in Sherbrooke with the help of $3 million in support from the Provincial government. Described as a hybrid of the rental system and condominiums, the new approach will give people the opportunity to buy into a housing co-operative that will return a part of their fees back to them at the end to be used for a future downpayent.
