The list of milestones reached for Bishop’s University point guard Amaiquen Siciliano continues to expand.

During a game against the UQAM Citadins on Feb. 9, the two-time reigning RSEQ MVP eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone for her career. The senior point guard became just the 5th woman to achieve the feat since the current RSEQ has been documented in 2006. Siciliano needed just 51 career games to reach the milestone, becoming the fastest player in league history to reach the mark.

According to Siciliano, she wasn’t aware of the milestone until after the game.

“I was quite shocked. Apparently, everybody at Bishop’s knew but I didn’t know until the game ended,” she said.

She thanked her family, teammates and coaches for all the support she’s received.

Siciliano was required to sit out one semester and had an entire season cut short due to COVID-19. The veteran guard is averaging 22.2 points per game and is dialed in from 3-point territory shooting 36.5 per cent.
