Skate Canada suspends local figure skating coach due to unknown misconduct

On Monday, Skate Canada announced Marie-Christine Grenier, a figure skating coach working for Patinage Estrie, has been issued a one-year suspension for misconduct.
The Record contacted the national figure skating federation to learn more about Grenier’s suspension. The federation sent an email explaining that it is “committed to providing an environment where everyone can experience the joy of skating in a safe and healthy manner.”
Skate Canada added all misconduct complaints are managed by Skate-Safe. And the reporting process for Skate-Safe is handled by IntegrityCounts, a third party service. Misconduct cases are given to Skate-Safe to ensure an “independent review, investigation, and disposition.”
