Richmond MNA André Bachand has provided $10,000 in financial aid to the Musée de l’ardoise de Richmond through the programme de Soutien à l’action bénévole in order to keep its mission alive.

“As has been the case for many organizations in the event, cultural and tourism sectors, the Musée de l’ardoise was unable to fulfill its mission to the fullest extent last year due to the health crisis,” Bachand said, adding he felt compelled to provide financial aid.

The museum, founded in 1992, aims to promote, study, and contribute to the preservation of the territory known as Pays de l’ardoise, or country of slate. According to a press release, the museum achieves its goal using educational activities that take place throughout the territory.
