Since the beginning of the pandemic, small gestures have had a big impact on the wellbeing of the local community.
First there were rainbows appearing in windows like scraps of light along a dark path.
And then random acts of kindness started happening all over the Townships keeping spirits high and reminding people that at some point everything will be ok.
There is still a ways to go, but World Kindness Day could not have come at a better time.
The days are getting shorter and colder, and the reality of how the holiday season is likely to be is setting in.
At a time like this, something as simple as a smile can go a long way.
