The Sûreté du Québec carried out several police operations throughout the province over the Thanksgiving weekend from Oct. 7 to 10, aiming to ensure an increased presence during a period when the flow of traffic was greater than usual.
The provincial police note a significant improvement in the road safety record this year compared to the same period in 2021, but there were still three fatal collisions on the roads resulting in five deaths. No fatal collisions occurred on the province’s recreational vehicle network.
