The St. Barnabas Anglican Church in North Hatley took part in Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Sunday with their very own service of evensong followed by a proper English tea in the afternoon.
“They really did an excellent job,” said the Venerable Dr. Edward Simonton OGS, who led the afternoon service, “We really needed something like that. It was really good for the community.”
Simonton noted that the celebration was the first event of its kind for the church community since before the COVID-19 pandemic, making this something of a reunion celebration in addition to the main theme of the day.
