Next week Sunnyside Elementary School in Stanstead will walk the walk of togetherness to raise awareness about the health conditions and disabilities that members of the school community live with daily and demonstrate that united, they are strong.
“It’s crazy to think about how many students’ lives are touched with a disease or a disability in our school, as well as the people who work with those students,” explained Sunnyside teacher Emily Grey, part of the organizing team for the upcoming ‘Sunnyside Stronger Together Walk’.
On April 1 at around 1 p.m. Sunnyside students, decked out in all the colours of the rainbow, will head down Dufferin Street with a helping hand from the local fire department.
“We’re doing this to show our support and recognition in a positive light,” Grey said.
