By Steve Blake – Town of Brome Lake residents and those from surrounding towns embraced winter Saturday at the Polar Beach Party at Douglass Beach in Knowlton. The event was cost-free. Councillor Ron Myles said he thinks it was the third annual party, and it’s getting better each year. The Polar Beach Party was organized this year by Martin Lussier, who became the town’s recreation coordinator in November. He started planning the beach party as soon as he started. The former Val-des-Cerfs teacher was hired by Director General Gilbert Arel and Recreation Director Cynthia Brunelle. See full story in the Tuesday, Feb. 5 edition of the Brome County News.
