The news from Pope Memorial

The students at Pope Memorial Elementary School in Bury have been blasting off into space recently with a variety of space-themed activities and lessons. Most notably, the students of Grades 5 and 6 created a dazzling model of our solar system that adorns the hallway of the school. In pairs they researched a planet each, and they are very proud to show what they have learned. On Nov. 13, the school had a live videoconference with NASA. The guide from NASA took the students on a visual tour of the solar system, which generated many thought-provoking questions. With an upcoming visit from the Aster Planetarium on Nov. 25, we are sure to have some aspiring astronauts! See full story in the Thursday, Nov. 21 edition of The Record.
