The Rainbow Project – “It will be okay”

By Louise Smith

Rainbows are appearing in windows across the Townships and elsewhere. There is a movement afoot to create rainbows and to put them up, with or without the message, “Ca Va Bien Aller” or “It will be okay”. If you harken back to the Bible story of Noah, after the 40 days and 40 nights of rain, God sent Noah a rainbow as a sign that the great flood would not happen again. It was a covenant, a promise, that the bad times were over.
Every day new rainbows are going up. Some of the creations are being made by children, stuck at home, and some are made by adults. It seems we are heading to a possible lockdown to stem the spread of Covid-19, as the Townships and Montreal are the hot spots in the province. If ever there was a need for rainbows, it is now. No matter what your level of artistic talent, you can be part of the messaging for hope. Published in the March 31 edition of the Brome County News.
