Like many residents of the city of Sherbrooke, as well as local historians, the members of the Sherbrooke Snow Shoe Club (SSSC) were shocked to learn of the destruction by fire of the Magog House on Dufferin Street, in the heart of the city. Situated near the core of the city’s former central business district, the Magog House garnered a certain level of respect from the SSSC membership, for it was here that the club was founded over a century ago, during the hotel’s more prosperous times.
