After a long baseball season the Thetford Mines Blue Sox are the 2015 Quebec Major Baseball League champions for the fourth time in a row. The Blue Sox hoisted the Yvon Gervais Cup after beating the Victoriaville Cactus 11-10 in Game 4 of the final series on Monday. There was little doubt of the winner as the Blue Sox swept to victory defeating the Cactus 2-0, 11-8, 3-2, 11-10.
After knocking out the Sherbrooke Expos in the quarterfinals, the Blue Sox fought their way into the final, beating Ste-Therese in six games, while the Cactus earned their place in the final beating St-Jérôme in five games after previously disposing of Coaticook.
Blue Sox Pitcher Stéphane Pouliot was named series MVP after playing with an injury. Through the playoffs, he maintained a batting average of .480, knocking out 24 hits in 50 at-bats, including five homers and 22 RBIs. On the mound, he picked up four victories and suffered one defeat in the playoffs putting up an earned run average of 5.41.
