Thomas Harding makes first public statement following acquittal

Thomas Harding, accompanied by the members of his defence team, read a prepared statement in front of local media on Monday afternoon, sharing his sympathies for the families and friends of the victims of the Lac-­Mégantic disaster and expressing thanks to those who supported him throughout the recent proceedings. “I would like to speak to the family and friends of the victims of the tragedy,” Harding said. “I am deeply sorry for my part of the responsibility in this tragedy."
