Townships hospital numbers decline over the weekend

The total number of people in hospital with COVID-19 across Quebec increased by 14 on Monday, but at 2,425, remained lower than it was at the start of last weekend. The situation was similar for those in intensive care across the province, with an increase of one overall, to 178.

There were also 20 new Covid-related deaths recorded, for a total of 13,495 since the start of the pandemic.

In the Eastern Townships there were 137 in hospital with the virus on Monday, 14 of whom were in intensive care. This represents a decrease of nine in the overall number of people, but a slight increase in the number of ICU cases in the region since last Friday’s update.

The healthcare authority for the Eastern Townships also recorded four more deaths linked to Covid over the weekend, for a total of 507.

As of Monday, 66,683 rapid test results had been recorded using the province’s self-declaration tool including 51,381 that were positive. Of that total, 1,091 were listed as taken on Sunday, including 813 positive.
