Transforming trash into Estrie Aide treasures

By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – Estrie Aide will be hosting its fourth annual edition of the “Garbage Art” event on Friday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in a series of activities that combine art and recycling. “Garbage Art is a playful approach that allows us to showcase our work and heighten awareness towards the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling,” explained Angela Sukic, Estrie Aide’s Communications Officer. Every year, Estrie Aide invites local artists to its headquarters at 345, South Wellington Street, where they will select and transform recycled furniture pieces on site.
