Two Sherbrooke teens off to Rio for karate championships

Record Staff – Two young Sherbrooke athletes will be among the 80 Canadian contenders in the Pan American Karate Championships this August in Rio de Janeiro.
Teenagers Antoine Bélanger and Léa Morin, who both train at the Stéphane Joyal Dojo at the Université de Sherbrooke, will take part in the 12-13 and the 14-15 year-old kata competitions respectively. Bélanger placed second at the last championships and Morin was crowned the Canadian champion in Halifax last spring. Published in the Tuesday, July 24 edition of The Record.
