By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – The Kidney Foundation of Canada will be hosting two walks in the Townships in the following weeks. Sherbrooke’s Lucien-Blanchard Park will be the location of a walk on Sunday, May 26, while Granby will host a similar event on June 2 at the Centre d’interprétation de la nature du Lac Boivin. The Kidney Walk is an event that aims to raise the population’s awareness towards kidney-related diseases and towards the importance of organ donation. The accumulated funds will help give hope and a better life to the thousands of Quebecers affected by a kidney-related disease or those on the waiting list for an organ transplant.
