Record Staff – A Université de Sherbrooke professor has been awarded the 2018 Kamerlingh Onnes prize, and international honour awarded for ‘illuminating the nature of superconductivity in conventional superconductors.’ Prof Louis Taillefer will be presented with his prize during a ceremony held in Beijing on August 1, 2018. He will share the prize with Prof. Yuji Matsuda of Kyoto University. Taillefer is being honoured for his “seminal magneto-transport studies of heavy-fermion and cuprate superconductors”.
