Used books up for grabs this weekend

By Gordon Lambie

Mary Purkey and Ahmed Hamden, volunteers with the BU/CRC refugee student sponsorship program standing among the hundreds of books set up for this year’s used book sale at the Lennoxville United Church. Although a team of volunteers has been hard at work sorting through donations for the annual fundraiser, Purkey said that the success of the event has a lot to do with the dedication of Lissa McRae, who has helped to coordinate the effort throughout. The sale began Thursday evening and is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Published in the Friday, Oct. 25 edition of The Record.
