Valcourt pleads with motorists to slow down

After analyzing data collected from speed signs installed around the town, and noticing a worrying trend of motorists clocking in at 100km/hr in 50km/hr zones, Valcourt Mayor Pierre Tétrault has issued a stern warning to residents to slow down.
Tétrault has been fielding phone calls and complaints from concerned residents ever since he stepped into the mayor’s office. He told The Record that he tried to address the issue through an awareness campaign in low-speed and school zones, but it has had little-to-no impact.
