Vermont gives Coventry Dump permit to expand

By newsroom

By Steve Blake, Special to The Record – The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) issued a permit on Friday, October 12 for the Casella landfill in Coventry to expand. Casella’s next step is to obtain a permit from the Act 250 Commission, the state’s land use regulator. The company applied for that permit in October 2017. Casella wants to expand the landfill by about 51 acres, which would allow it to remain in operation for an additional 22 years. The landfill is located near the Black River, which empties into Lake Memphremagog. See full story in the Wednesday, October 17 edition of The Record.
