Vincent Boutin joins mayoral race in Sherbrooke

Sherbrooke’s mayoral race picked up another candidate on Thursday with the announcement that Quatre-Saisons district councillor Vincent Boutin means to throw his hat into the ring this fall.
Having previously served as a political attaché to Réjean Hébert when he was MNA for the Saint Francois riding, Boutin was first elected to municipal office in 2013 under the banner of former Mayor Bernard Sévigny’s Renouveau Sherbrookois party. At the time he was the youngest person ever to be elected to municipal office in Sherbrooke. He went on to be one of only two members of that party re-elected in 2017, and briefly served as interim party leader before Renouveau Sherbrookois formally disbanded in 2019.
