Voice of The Record retires after 39 years

By Matthew McCully

For decades, Anne Poirier was the first face people would see when walking into The Record office.
And anyone who called the office regarding a subscription would have spoken to Anne.
In her 39 years at The Record, she helped countless subscribers when their delivery person was sick, when someone didn’t get their paper because two were stuck together, when the press broke down and there was no paper, or most notably, when The Record office burned to the ground in 1999.
In every instance, Anne remained calm and collected, troubleshooting with a smile, even during less than cordial conversations.
On behalf of all The Record staff, we wish you all the best and a happy retirement.
