With activities limited due to the ongoing pandemic, Quebecers are turning to ski hills for a daily dose of fresh air and exercise.
But it’s not as simple as arriving on the day, purchasing a ticket and hitting the slopes. Like many other industries, ski hills and resorts needed to adapt to COVID-19 rules, Mont Sutton CEO Jean-Michel Ryan told The Record in an interview.
Sutton’s administration team created a reservation platform on its website. It’s become the norm for this year, he explained, the whole industry needed to adopt a new ticket system in order to contain traffic on the mountain.
“The reason behind that is because of the Covid restriction, you know, for the chair lift and the entrance in the chalet […] we have to restrain a little the volume of skiers on the mountain,” said Ryan.
