Well Sud project gets the go-ahead

The City of Sherbrooke approved the plan for the Espace Centro project, the most recent incarnation of a Wellington South revitalization effort that has been underway in one form or another since October of 2016. With a total estimated cost of over $100 million, the project is a public/private partnership of the city and a consortium of the EXP engineering and design firm and the Groupe Custeau. It consists of the construction of a large parking garage, a large public square connecting Wellington and Depot Streets, and two large towers in the space occupied by the former Studio Sex strip club, the Hotel Wellington, and the lots left vacant by earlier demolition on the east side of Wellington Street South.
