During the last provincial election, the Richmond riding had an impressive 73.11 per cent voter turnout, electing Coalition avenir Québec candidate André Bachand with 39.63 per cent of the vote. The Quebec Liberal party came in second at 19.81 per cent, followed by Québec solidaire close behind at 18.9 per cent.
Incumbent Bachand is hoping to hold his seat on Oct. 3, running against six other candidates:
Marylaine Bélair, for the Conservative Party of Quebec, Jacinthe Caron for the Parti québécois,
Raymond de Martin, Independent, Mona Louis-Jean, for the Quebec Liberal Party, Richard Magnan, Démocratie directe and Philippe Pagé, representing Québec solidaire.
